[Resolved] Couple questions about theme and blog page

Hi there,

I’m new to generate press and so far it’s working great for me although there are a couple things I couldn’t figure out yet. So I really hope you could teach me how to do these things so I can do them myself in the future.

First question: I would like to change the header color and there’s no option in the color section. I’ve selected the colour the header currently is. If i could add a screenshot it would be more clear. But you can see it for yourself, the site is: papegaaiplezier.nl .

second question: I would like to not show writer and date at the blog overview page and in the blogs itself. I have changed in the blog settings but it still hasn’t changed.

Third: All the URL’s do look like this: https://papegaaiplezier.nl/?page_id=29 . Obviously that’s not the way I wanted it. How can i change this. For example I already give in a slug for categories and the seperate blogs but it doesn’t work. When i manually type in the URL and press enter, I land on the homepage.

I really hope you guys can help and explain this.

Hi Rik,

1. That color is added from a Shape. See here for reference: https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/#shapes

You’ll need to edit the page and change the Shape color.

2. Your Blog uses a Content Template. See here for reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

You can use a Headline Block to pull data like the Author’s name. The video on the Reference site shows how to pull data.

3. This is controlled by WordPress itself, not the theme. You can change them through Settings > Permalinks in your Admin Dashboard.

Thanks a lot. Now I’ve 2 other questions:

For this page ( https://papegaaiplezier.nl/artikelen/ )I want to make the empty space between the navigation and page titel, and between the page titel and the blogs smaller so everything wil be a bit more close to each other. Can you help me with that?

Second: I want to delete the ‘chart’ symbol next to my main menu. How can I do that?
