no idea what happened to make the footer copyright bar suddenly disappear. no new plugins were activated or added, and all was working, and then the copyright bar disappeared.
webhost service got back to me:
/////////////////
Hi Robin,Nothing relevant in the error logs. Looking in the developer console in Chrome, I do see that there is a
tag at the bottom that appears to be a footer element:
Unfortunately it’s empty, so it looks like your theme just isn’t sticking any code in there. I’d get back in touch with the theme developers and see if they’ll have a look at the site’s source code for you to confirm.
Thanks,
Logan
/////////////////////////copyright module is active and has been active throughout
copyright bar has this in it:
%copy% %current_year% Jane Kammerer Starks // contact // JKS
this is how it has been for several weeks, no changes were made, nor were any changes made in the footer customization that I can think of.
your assistance MUCH appreciated! this is a client website…

October 28, 2019 at 1:59 pm #1047229LeoStaffCustomer SupportWhat happens if you remove this Layout element?
https://www.screencast.com/t/pTWIdQReOctober 28, 2019 at 2:07 pm #1047234Robinthank you!!!
deleted it, and will start over trying to customize the attachment page (single.php)
started a child theme.
your guidance on this most welcome, and can open a new topic, or … there is already a fairly long thread on this.
basically I want the attachment page (single post) to have no sidebars, nor comments, nor category names. Just the image “large” on a white background, and to have a custom navigation menu at the top of the page, exactly where the navigation is now, but having only the home button (“JKS”) and a back-to-galley button (goBack).
October 28, 2019 at 2:10 pm #1047238LeoStaffCustomer SupportPlease stick with the topic you’ve already opened for this.
I’ll mark this one as resolved.
Glad I could help.
