Copyright and Current Year in GB footer

Hi, sorry for asking what is probably a simple question. I'm creating a global footer using a GB Pro footer template and I can't figure out how to add the copyright/current year bar on the bottom so that I don't have to update it every year.
I've seen some responses to what I think is a similar question in the support forums, but I still haven't been able to figure it out.

If you select Site Footer under Element type, then you can use the template tag:
