Hi there again!
I was wondering if I could choose a site template theme from your site library just to browse and explore it and COPY some components, such as BLOCKS and ELEMENTS from it (where and how would I SAVE it?), then import another and another and….. site from the library and do the same before finally deciding on the final site library theme/template to use for my design. But, of course, expecting that my SAVED ELEMENTS and BLOCKS will be still available for insertion from within GENERATEBLOCKS into the current working design…
Or would my saved data be all gone and removed every time I choose a new template from the library?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
if you import multiple sites, then GP will detect a site has already been installed, and it will give you the option to remove it. If you choose not to remove it, then the previous elements and pages from the site will be kept.
However, you may end up with Elements conflicting if they use the same display rules, so you would need to cater for that.
And you may find a design built on one website doesn’t look the same if the Customizer > fonts and colors have been changed to that of another site.IF you want to pick and choose content, then you may want to set up a development site, and use that to load sites for you to copy blocks and elements from.

Hi Jo,
Some Hosting Providers have a feature to start a staging site. You can first ask your Hosting Provider about this.
There are also plugins for this.
This article may be helpful: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

Hi Fernando, then I guess I am already in sort of a staging area site, since I have no live version. I am just building the website and when it´s done it will be used to take over the old site which will be transfered from the now actual, but then old host.
So,how can I pick and choose content then??? I am tinking about opening up one theme after the other just copying blocks in Gutenberg that I like from them….

I am thinking about creating REUSABLE BLOCKS to save and then use across different theme or templates.
I just tried to log into https://generateblocks.com/
to get some documentation about reusable blocks, but it seems my login data from https://generatepress.com/ is not working. Isn´t it? Why?
There also is no option to register. Just to login. Strange…February 23, 2023 at 6:32 am #2543957David
StaffCustomer SupportGenerateBlocks is a separate plugin, and the Pro version has its own license, its not exclusive to GP.
But All of the GenerateBlocks documentation can be seen here:https://docs.generateblocks.com
BUT Reusable Blocks are a core WordPress feature ( wp .com has the docs for them ):
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/
Read carefully though as they are not really designed as a pattern library.
If you want a Local Pattern library then you would need a GB Pro License.
