    Hi there,

it seems as if the title of a page (content title / entry-title) is automatically deactivated when using sections on that page.

Is there a simple way to say “please, generally show content titles even when I’m using sections”?

    Hi there,

This thread provides an explanation and an alternative solution: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/page-title-when-using-sections/

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Leo,

thank you for the hint. (I searched before posting but didn’t find the thread.)

It’s helpful as I know now that there is no simple way to reactivate the page titles.

I can retype the title in the first section and style it h1, but that leads to some other complications like padding, alignment …

You may compare http://4federn.de/seminare/ with http://4federn.de/texte/

I think the easiest way is to make an extra section only for the title. But isn’t that breaking a fly on the wheel?

I thought, like Rick, page titles could be placed before the first section …

I’m working an a design that uses sections slightly. That means, the user of the website will not see or feel sections as he does on a typical one-page-layout. That’s why there is no reason to hide the page title.

I would say that we can use CSS to make them look exactly the same. Looks like they already are now though?

Also forwarded this to Tom and see if he has a clever solution ๐Ÿ™‚

The issue with showing the default title is that it can’t be styled like the other sections. You can imagine building out a bunch of sections just to have one specific section above them all that you can’t match to the rest of your page.

As Leo said, I think using CSS to make sure they match is the best way to go.

    Hi Leo, hi Tom,

    thank you for the replies!

I learned that there are severe technical reasons not to offer page titles on pages with sections.

And yes, adding an extra section for the title with some CSS works fine.

    Thanks again
