Conditionally displaying post published or modified date

Hello GeneratePress Team,

I have found various articles on the forum and on the net that give instructions on displaying a post#s published date or modified date, or even displaying both.

My question: is it possible to conditionally display just one of those dates. I.e display the published date if a post has been published but not updated, and display the modified date if the post has been updated.

thanks for the amazingly fast response.

I tried the given PHP filter and applied the last CSS style rule and it seems to work perfectly.
