    Hi all,

I’m posting this quickly to see if you can provide with a possible solution. I’ve been consistently using a child theme for GP but I’ve been noticing recently that my plugins are not getting updated nor do they show that there is an update available for them. I can see though that there is a more up to date plugin so I was wondering why that is. I did a bunch of debugging and finally found that it has to do with my child theme. If I switch to the GeneratePress theme, then all of a sudden it shows that I have plugin updates, theme updates, and WP Updates available. I’ve limited my child theme to run as little custom code as possible and disabled anything I’m doing that might interfere with this? Do you know why this might be? Screenshots below:

    Child Theme active: https://jmp.sh/l9hRtMo
    Parent Theme active: https://jmp.sh/EfQdWQ2

As you can see when the primary theme is active the updates show up just fine. I can give access to the sites backend for better insight as to the issues.

Thanks as always for the great support!

    Hi there,

It’s possible that your child theme has some code that’s preventing your installation from communicating with WordPress.org. Have you tried removing functions one by one to test?
