Thanks, David. It’s what I suspected, but your explanation makes it clear just why it has to be that way.
Also appreciate your information about what type of plugin affects page load speed. That, too, makes it all a lot more understandable for me.

Hi David,
No request, just an update.
Installed the field edit plugin just now and disabled all the fields except name and email. It worked like a charm and took about 5 minutes!
I was a tad hesitant because the plugin’s settings suggested disabling was not recommended – it might interfere with some plugins. Site seems to work fine, however, so will just keep fingers crossed.
One issue fixed … great!
