I am developing a website based on the Marketer site library. Should I change the default WordPress image sizes to match what is being displayed for posts by that library (e.g., the large and medium sizes)? Would that increase loading speed?

    Hi Joan,

What images are you referring to?

Can you link us to a post/page where we can see the image?

I haven’t uploaded any of my own images yet. I’m referring to the default images that came with the Marketer site library when I loaded it onto my site.

The site is still under development and not live yet, but here is a “bypass” page to it. Scroll down to see the posts with the default images.

And here’s a link to one of the images. Looks like it’s 700×400:

For the fastest loading time, I’m trying to figure out if I should:
    1) resize my images to 700×400 before uploading them to the site.
    2) change the predefined Large image size (in the Media Settings) from 1024×1024 to 700×400.
    3) just upload my images “as-is” and let the Generate Press code handle all the sizing.

    What do you recommend?

    Hi Joan,

For performance, it would be best to upload next-gen images. For instance, a next-gen format for web is webp.

Webp images are much less smaller in terms of size/memory. The dimensions would depend on you.

Here’s an article with regards to Image dimensions: https://enginescout.com.au/wordpress-image-sizes/

And, yes, WordPress controls image sizes/dimensions in your site by default and that would be good.
