Change background image size in Sections

Hmm not really, you'll have to adjust the size of the image before uploading it.

Maybe you can guide me on this. What I'm trying to accomplish is this:

I want to add a widget on the top of the featured image, so I can add text or html.

Is this possible through the GP plugin?

You could use the Page Header add-on to set your image as a background image and then add content into the "Content" tab.

That's your best bet most likely.
