Can't set Site Icon

Tom,
Using the Customiser interface and can't set the Site Icon. Image file dimensions are 512px x 512px. I have tried both a GIF file and a PNG file. File uploads fine but when I want to select it, it won't insert it and the right sidebar (where the image properties are) disappears.
I am using the latest version of GP with addons.

Saved, opened my test site and the icon shows in my browser bar.
Maybe you have another plugin conflicting?
