Hi, after installing the Generatepress theme somehow I can't see the featured image in the WordPress dashboard but there is no problem in the post or front end. Even the featured image option is not available in the screen option which is located in the top right corner of WordPress.
Hi there,
the issue isn't theme related. There have been numerous reports on wordpress.org that users experienced this when upgrading to WP 5.9.
Things to try:
1. Check for plugin conflicts by temporarily disabling ALL plugins.
2. Check for child theme/functions conflicts - by disabling child theme.
3. Browser cookies and local storage are used to stored Editor preferences and priveledges. Clearing cookies and caches and testing on an incognito browser to test this.
4. If #3 is not working log in with a new User account to check.
Hi David, my site is brand new just 3days old. But tried all the methods you mentioned but had no luck. As you mentioned it might be the new WordPress version.
Do you want to provide me with temporary admin access and i can take a look?
You can share details in the Private Information field.
Provided the details to my website. pls check
Hi Jeevan,
Thank you for providing temporary access to your website. Upon checking, I was able to locate the Featured Image section in the Post settings.

With regards to the Featured Image not appearing in the screen options to make it appear in the columns, this is WordPress related. If you try switching to Twenty Twenty Two Theme by WordPress, on WP 5.9, you’ll see that the option still wouldn’t appear.
Hope this clarifies. :)
Hi Fernando, yes the Featured image in the screen option is not appearing. Thank you for the support.
You’re welcome Jeevan! Glad to be of assistance! Feel free to reach out anytime if you’ll need assistance with anything else. :)
