This is really embarrassing: I tried making a page header (home) and while trying to create a custom template, inadvertently placed it on the home page page header. But I can’t remember how it got there so I can remove it. HELP!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Did you create a Header Element? If so, you can find it in “Appearance > Elements” and remove it/set it as a draft.
Let me know ๐

Tom,
I don’t think so. I think I created a page header called “home” and used that for the home page.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIs the “Elements” module activated in “Appearance > GeneratePress”?
If so, go to “Appearance > Elements” and look for a “Legacy Page Headers” button near the top of the page.
If Elements isn’t activated, you should see “Page Headers” near the bottom left of the main admin menu.

Tom,
I can see the page header – but I don’t see the {custom template} in there anywhere.

Tom,
Thanks for being in touch. Your support is the best!
Actually, the reason you don’t see it is that I am using a different page as the “home” page. So that you can still see the problem, I added a menu item (the last one), called “Home” where the page is displayed that has the “{{costume_field.post_title}}” displayed. I have looked at the “home” page header and I don’t see that text anywhere, so I don’t know how I put it in there, lol.
By the way, I had asked this question elsewhere but never had it resolved: is there a way to place a background overlay JUST behind text so that it pops out, but doesn’t darken the rest of the image?
Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt looks like that text should be viewable inside one of your legacy Page Headers. Maybe you haven’t checked all of them?
If your text is a part of the image, the only way to darken the image behind it is by using an image editor like Photoshop.
If the text is actual text, you can add an overlay to the background image itself.

Hi Tom,
Thanks again for your ideas. Yes, the text is actual text, but my problem with adding an overlay to the image is that it makes the whole image darker, not just the area behind the text.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThe first thing I suggest doing is moving to our Elements module: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/moving-hooks-page-headers-to-elements/
Then you can use the Background Overlay option: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/#background-overlay
