Can't insert Sidebar properly

Hello,
I am having a hard time to insert a sidebar on the BLOGG template using a custom sidebar layout I created. I managed to do properly with the footer so that it shows on the entire site.
Now with the sidebar what happens is that in addition to the template I created the search and archives box always show up, don't know how to get rid of them.
Also, the sidebar inserted is too narrow, completely different from what I made.

Hi there,
The sidebar is very narrow because it's set to two columns inside Elementor I believe. If you re-design it to be one column, it should fit the entire width.
The other widgets are displaying because GeneratePress doesn't think any widgets exist in there. How are you adding the template you created in Elementor?
