Cant get excerpts to display

Hello,
Trying to get excerpts to display. Using site library "catalyst".
Ive read the documents on this, but still cant get it to display any excerpts.
Customizer, layout, blog, archives,excerpt. excerpt word count 55.
If i switch to "full content", the whole post will display.
have read in docs that this css: .entry-summary {
display: none;
}
may have been added, but i do not see that either.
Any ideas?

If you are sure that the content type is set to excerpt, then give #1 a shot here to eliminate plugin conflicts:

Here is what I found though I really dont know what caused it.
I created two new posts today and the excerpt does display. But only on the new posts that i create.
The excerpts will not display on any of my old posts, which i imported from a file.
So not sure what is causing that. I will do a little research and see what I can find out.
I did switch themes to GP and the posts I imported were made with another theme so maybe that is what caused this.
Make sure the other theme didn't insert the more tag:

I have the exact same problem. I can't figure it out. Did you guys get anywhere with this? I really don't want to have to go in and recreate all the posts just to get the excerpt.
Any chance you can open a new topic and link me to the site in question?
