Cant Edit Using WPBakery

Hi,

I updated WPBakery to latest version using a license I purchased but now I cant edit pages at all. I only see WPBakery shortcodes. I have disabled Gutemberg. All plugins and theme version is up to date.

Hi there,

This is unlikely a theme issue.

Have you tried disabling all plugins except GP Premium to test?

And what happens if you use a Twenty series WP theme?

Hi,

Yes I tried disabling all the plugins expect GP Premium to test and same issue. Same issue even with TwentyTwentyOne theme.

This is what WPBakery support said:

" The issue is because the older visual composer (now WPBakery Page Builder) is modified by the theme author by customizing the existing elements and adding the new one's. Now when you update it, the customization made by the theme author was lost which causes the issue. You can check it with the theme author if there is any way to preserve the customization done by him with the latest version, so that such an issue can be avoided at your end. "

Did you mention to them that the same issue happens in the 2021 theme?

It cannot be a theme-related issue if the issue exists in 2021 as well.

I'd recommend following up with WPBakery's support for a better answer.
