Can I use elements to customize my blog page?

I started working on my game blog site and the first thing on my agenda is to create a home page which is basically just the header image and links, and then blog posts. I tried looking for tutorials on how to edit the home page using elements, but unfortunately, I didn't find any tutorials, so I was wondering if it's possible to do so, and if so, how?
Here's one of the looks I like and would want my site to resemble the feel of:
![]()
Thank you in advance.
Hi there,
you may want to check out our Dispatch site int he Site Library:
This site currently uses WP Show Posts to create the home page layout.
We're working on an update for our GenerateBlocks plugin that will do the same thing but using the block editor. Expected to have that update in Q2 this year.
Hi David,
Thank you for the suggestion. I used it and it works great!
My problem right now though is that I want to customize the magazine header a bit, but I can't seem to find where to do so. Is that doable, or is that what you're talking about when you mentioned the Q2 update?
or is that what you’re talking about when you mentioned the Q2 update?
Thats correct.
Is there something you need to change - i can take a look if its possible with some CSS. Let me know
Right now, I'd like to add some labels above the sections so the users would know what they are. I also would like to add some Google Ads on there, and I tried inserting one through Elements, but I don't think it worked.
On the Dispatch Home Page if you edit that you should just see some Shortcodes for the various WP Show Posts lists and some Headings, you can add/remove/move around the headings and shortcodes. And if you want to add adverts to that page then insert the codes in a HTML Block.
I tried adding the AdSense code both as an HTML tag and an Element Hook, but neither worked.
Also, for the Dispatch edit, I was able to see the shortcodes, but couldn't find a way to edit them.
Go to Dashboard > WP Show Posts. Within you will see a WPSP list for each of the shortcodes, you can edit them if you want to change the post arguments and some basic styling controls.
Scripts that must be added to the <head> of your site can be added using a Hook Element and seleting the wp_head hook
Advert placement codes can be added manually in the editor using the HTML Block.
But you may need to way for google to validate your site and the use of adverts before they appear.
