Can I combine Java Sctript and CSS files For webpage optimization.

"There are 14 CSS files served from greenhouseplanter.com. They should be combined into as few files as possible."
I have a premium generate press theme so I was optimizing my webpage. It was suggested that I should combine the CSS and Javascript files.
Is it a good idea to combine them all?
Will I sill be able to update the theme?
Can you tell me how can I do the optimization?

you need to use a cache/optimize plugin which do this for you. Tips from GP on optimization:

Check out the autoptimize plugin mentioned it will combine the files in a cache for you.
No issues with updating theme using this method.
