Hi –
I recently updated my WordPress to the new Guttenberg editor, and it seems like all my old published blog posts and pages I created/published before updating (using the classic editor), can’t be edited or updated now that I’m using the new editor.
For new blog posts created from scratch using the new editor, it looks like I can edit/make changes. However, this doesn’t seem possible for previously published articles and pages. For example, when trying to update an old blog post, none of the buttons seem to work, where I can’t save drafts, publish updated content, add links, etc.
Have you heard of this happening before, and if so, is there a fix? Currently, I can’t update my homepage design or edit my older posts, which I need to do in order to add links to new articles, etc.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
We haven’t heard of this happening, but it’s possible that you’re using a plugin which is breaking the editor.
Any chance you can try disabling your plugins one by one to see if one of them is causing it?

Hey Tom –
So I did as you suggested and found that the “Gridable” plugin was breaking the editor. If I turn off Gridable, then the bug is fixed. However, isn’t Gridable a Generate press plugin? Or, at least it’s required to design some of the Generate Press templates? Currently, I’m using Gridable to design my home page.
When I turn Gridable off, the editor works fine, but then my homepage design gets all screwy. When I turn Gridable back on, the homepage reverts to its intended design, but then the editor freezes and I can’t make any edits.
Is there a fix for this? If Gridable is necessary for Generate Press design, perhaps it’s happening to others too in the WP update?
Any help appreciated!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHey Evan,
If you’re using the new editor, Gridable isn’t necessary, as you can use the Columns block.
If you want to continue using Gridable, you can use the Classic Editor plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
Gridable isn’t a GP plugin, it’s just one of the column plugins we recommended because Gutenberg was released.
