Update:
Re-activated "Classic Editor". I don't want to deal with that mess.
I was just about to say, did you try switching to TwentySeventeen? Haven't experienced those issues, so would be good to know. But switching to classic is not a bad thing.
Hi
I'm having same problem on localhost, here is a screenshot
What i have tried: Clearing cache, disabling all plugins, changing theme to 2019.
Hi Jamal,
exactly the problem I had. Tried the same. Activated the Classic Editor.
Hi Jamal,
so the issue is still there on the 2019 theme?
Yes David problem persist even with 2019 theme activated. I just tried some live sites and got the same problem.
What exactly am I looking at there? Is the editor not working?
It seems not to be working unfortunately unless im missing something. For example i can't add blocks etc.
Please let me know if you need more information or some more testing from my side. Thanks Tom.
Can you try it in a different browser? And make sure there are no browser extensions active?
The thing is that on a clean install all works just fine but on existing sites the issue above occurs. I have tried disabling extensions and tried it on Firefox.
Even on this site i get the above issue after updating. Any chance you still have the site package and can try it on local machine?
I have a site that uses Sections and new Blocks cannot be added. You can click the + and select a Block but nothing appears on the page.
On another site that does not use Sections, I am able to add Blocks as expected.
Jamal - I just logged into your site and didn't have a problem: https://www.screencast.com/t/lL6zgSu0N
Are you seeing something different?
Lyle - I'm not getting that issue: https://www.screencast.com/t/F6Wy4gOCVhQ
I've also been developing the Gutenberg features with Sections active - never had that issue.
Thanks, i have found what the problem was. I had disabled the visual editor and after enabling it the issue was resolved.
Interesting - good to know! :)
Thanks!
Oh boy. I didn't know, that the visual editor has to be active.
I have the visual editor always disabled.
By activating it, the problem solved for me, too.
That are things, you have to know. :-D
