Bleah YouTube embed video format on mobile
5 replies · Started by Ogi22 on November 11, 2018
Hello.
On mobile, the embedded video appears totally ugly.
It takes almost the whole screen.
When the video launched, contains two broad black bands, unnecessarily.
I want the video frame to be viewed on the mobile as well as on the desktop pc.
To keep the aspect ratio (I think it is 16: 9).
I think every user wants that.
Please, can you check, correct, and incorporate it into the update? Or, if you do not want to deal with it, can you please suggest an edit?
Well thank you.
Hi there,
Have you tried this method?

Let me know :)
Hi, Leo.
Thank you for your quick reply.
Why is this patch not implemented in the GeneratePress Theme?
Thank you for your answer.
Hi there,
this fix is not always required, as the video may be responsive to begin with. For example embeds created by this site wouldn't require the code.

Why would anyone use this tool and create a new code?
However, wordpress creates embed automatically after inserting a URL.
Additionally, the code you recommend has the same values as the code generated by the tool, so nothing would happen if you corrected the code to the template.
I'm right?
WordPress itself would need to implement a fix like this into their embedding functions. I believe they've done so in Gutenberg.
