I have a huge menu and I dont know how to configure it for search engine optimization. I was wondering if it would help to set up the ‘years’ pages like I did with the USDA pages? If I do that, I would want to change the text from page number to year number.

Hi there,
you may want to consider asking some advice of an SEO expert, but my personal view is to keep things simple and consider it first from a users perspective as opposed to the search engines bots.
If a user can find what they are looking for, then a Bot will too. But thats not necessarily the case vice-versa.My approach would be to draw up a site map.Theres plenty of online tutorials on sitemapping.
Group as much relevant content under as few Parent Links as possible.
Parent Links should command immediate attention and always be in your main navigation.
Further links can then be added either in a) sub menu or b) as on page links.
This many require you to create silo pages that are listed in your sub menus, and each of those pages has the deep on page links or archives.Thank you, Ive been reading up on the page links tag and its like a lot of work if even possible to do what I was thinking. I thought I read somewhere that search engines dont like sub pages or it was page speed??, I cant remember. But I like what you were saying and agree with it. Thank you very much!

After reading up on changing the page link tag to years instead of numbers, Im not sure its doable anyway. (Without a whole lot of work.)
Google’s new algorithm is messed up in my opinion. I find dead-end pages and pages with no content being listed in the top ten of search results.
One page has a tiny image and about 12 words, its been like that for about a year and a half, listed in 6th position.
Another page is marked 404 and still made the top ten.How do I compete with that? lol
Yeah that must be super frustrating.
