Best way to exclude category from blog and/or create a separate portfolio?

Hi all,

Using GPP, GBP. Also have WPSPP if needed.

We recently launched the first site we've been able to build from the start with GPP + GBP's dynamic data options. The site exceeded the client's expectations, in large part because of the tools you guys developed that make it easy for us to make stuff happen automatically.

For this particular case, the client did not want a blog. We could therefore create a portfolio category and a single portfolio post page hero without having to worry about the posts showing up in the blog feed. Now, I want to replace our own portfolio (that's difficult to update but looks and functions OK) with GPP Elements and GBP Dynamic blocks.

Having a blog-type feed keeps a portfolio fresh and makes it easier to update, so I am hoping there is a way to exclude posts from this category from our regular blog, and not use CPTs (ever again).

Is this doable? If so, is it inadvisable for any reason?

If it's doable/not inadvisable, what steps do I need to take to keep the blog and portfolio separate?

OMG too easy! Thank you, Ying.

You are welcome :)
