Background image blurs on mobile

Hi guys,

I'm using a picture of a spread-out deck of cards as background image for a website. This picture looks great on the preview of the customiser dashboard for mobile size, and also on Google developer preview there's no problem.

However, when I open the website on an actual mobile - or at least on a Samsung G5, Iphone SE and Moto G6, in Chrome, Safari or Samsung Internet - the browser zooms in and suddenly get a blurry image as a background and you can no longer see that there are cards behind the overlay.

Do you have any idea why this is happening, or how I could fix it?

Thank you,

Piet

Hi there,

so the background is set to cover, which is fine when viewing a landscape image on a landscape screen. When switching to mobile the portrait aspect then has to scale the image so as the height is covered.

You may have better results with a Contained image that is set to repeat.

Thanks Leo,

A lot better!

Cheers,

Piet

Glad i could help
