Background Color issues

I have a background set for my blog pages to #f2f2f2 and the font is set to a variant of Roboto Slab.
I happened to install a widget which is basically a code for a content exchange platform. But the moment I add this code, it changes the background color to white and makes the font type the default "Helvetica" one.
I am not sure why?
