Sorry, I don't believe I am explaining myself properly.

With the header, there is an element that you modify to customize it. However, I don't see an element for the footer.

I have already changed the copy right area. I just want to be able to create an actual footer and not just a bar across.

Sorry I'm a bit confused about what exactly you are trying to create.

And there is also the footer bar widget area which would sit line with the copyright section:

Those widgets area are available regardless of which template you are using from the site library.
