Anchor links refreshing page

Hi
I am using Generate Press premium version and have anchor links pointing to a div identifier on page. When the link is clicked the page does not scroll to the target without refreshing the page. I cannot understand why.
I am using Chrome browser and the format of my anchor links and target are:
and the div
I tried this without the smooth scroll class and I also tried it with the following anchor which just disables the link from working altogether!
Your Jump to Top button works fine (but I am not sure it is smooth scrolling.
Any ideas what my problem could be?

Sorry which menu item are you having the issue with?
I just checked the site but don't see an anchor menu item.

This is not in a menu - the anchor texts are anchor links in the content pointing to divs further down teh content.

odd - the your #links are generating the full URL - you can see this from the tooltip when you hover over the link. Do you have any plugins or functions that change links?

Indeed, it was the Ezoic Ads implementation plugin causing the issue. I am working with them on it. Pretty bad UX that has been left in that plugin IMHO though.
