Dear Tom,
Please, my admin dashboard editor page just started to display incorrectly about 40 minutes ago.
Any hint as to what might be wrong?
Please, I have sent the login details to your email.
Regards,
Stardrive
August 12, 2015 at 11:26 am #128687TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
What about it is displaying incorrectly?
Things won’t typically break by themselves – have you added any plugins/made any other changes?
Can you try #1 on this page?: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/debugging/
August 12, 2015 at 11:33 am #128689stardriveDear Tom,
I installed the plugin, X-tra Ordinary WooCommerce Product Carousel and Slider, which initially gave this error:
“Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home1/subdirectory/wp-content/plugins/xox-woocommerce-slidercarousel/includes/templates/slider/default.php on line 9”I deactivated and deleted the plugin.
Still the Editor page is not rendering well.August 12, 2015 at 11:41 am #128691TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperWhat about it isn’t rendering? Is the text not showing up in the editor?
If so, try re-installing WordPress by going to “Dashboard > Updates”, and click “Re-install Now”.
Sometimes plugins can corrupt TinyMCE (the editor script), and it needs to be re-installed.
August 12, 2015 at 12:28 pm #128706stardriveDear Tom,
The Editor is rendering and the text is showing up in the editor.
The problem is that the Templates and Stylesheets links are above the Editor window instead of besides the Editor window.
I re-installed wordpress and the problem is still thereAugust 12, 2015 at 12:36 pm #128710TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperAny chance you can take a screenshot and post it here so I can see?
August 12, 2015 at 12:47 pm #128715stardriveI have earlier sent a mail of the link to support@generatepress.com
August 12, 2015 at 12:54 pm #128734TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperYour editor looks normal to me using Chrome.
A screenshot of what you’re seeing would help me figure out what’s going on 🙂
August 12, 2015 at 1:41 pm #128753stardrivePlease, I have sent you the screenshot in your mail
I am using Google Chrome tooAugust 12, 2015 at 1:53 pm #128763TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperAh it’s your theme editor that’s broken.
Looking at it, it looks like one of your WooCommerce plugins is adding CSS into the back-end which is causing this issue.
You’ll have to figure out which WooCommerce plugin it is (deactivate them until it goes away), and then contact the developer of that plugin to fix the issue.
The problem CSS is:
.woocommerce #template div { margin: 0; }
August 12, 2015 at 2:02 pm #128764stardriveI have figured it out. It is the woocommerce plugin itself (latest version 2.4.3) that is causing the issue.
When I deactivate woocommerce, The Admin Editor screen displays well. But, when I activate woocommerce, the editor does not display well. Please, is there any way to override the problem CSS?
Regards,
Stardrive
August 12, 2015 at 2:09 pm #128768TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperJust tested it with WooCommerce – it’s definitely not the standalone plugin (they go through insane testing).
It must be one of your other plugins conflicting with it.
August 12, 2015 at 2:13 pm #128771stardriveOK. let me quickly check and get back to you
August 12, 2015 at 2:27 pm #128775stardriveWhile i am checking the other plugins, let me give you this information:
The current development site is in a subdomain of the main domain. There are also 3 other subdomains in the same domain which I use for other developments.
I noticed that the Admin Editor of one other subdomain with woocommerce installed (I have not installed additional plugin over the past 3 days) is not displaying well; that is, it is having similar problem as this current subdomain.
The other 2 subdomains without woocommerce do not have this issue
August 12, 2015 at 2:30 pm #128777TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHmm, you may want to post this on their forums then – they may have a better idea of what’s going on than I do.
