Additional Block Settings in Right Column Dissapear After Selecting Block

I am building a new page from scratch, as an exercise. Last night, I got the page roughly 80% finished when I encountered the problem described in the title. I select a block, which brings up the added Block settings in the right hand column. Less than a second later, they disappear, as if I clicked away from the block. In settings, I set the Top Toolbar active and it does the same thing, expands when I select a block, but disappears as if I clicked away. This happens on multiple computers, and in multiple browsers. The problem began last night and brought my progress to a halt, and it continues today. I'd be deeply grateful if someone could help me troubleshoot, so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong, or where the problem resides if it isn't my error.

Here is a video demonstrating the problem.

Hi there,

Thank you for providing a video.

That's quite strange. This is definitely an isolated case as this isn't occurring in any of my sandbox sites.

Can you try disabling ALL plugins except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks and check again? To see if its a plugin conflict issue.

Also, if you have a child theme w/ functions.php containing PHP snippets, can you try disabling it as well?

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the suggestion. Before I could apply it, I had already somewhat fixed the issue. It was a super buggy Block. I recorded the whole process of recovering control of the editor which Ill upload. But for now..

I've encountered another possibly related bug (as far as I can tell,) in the Reusable Block Editor/Manager and this same reusable block. (I just started learning all this stuff a couple days ago so I am very much still learning the terminology, tools, etc.. Forgive my noobness.) The problem is that keeps adding all these buttons into the block when I open to edit. It was even popping one up now and then while I was in the middle of editing. Here is a video. https://streamable.com/n60ysq

These problems are devastating to my making any progress, and I am under a bit of pressure. This is now my second day having seek help through a not exactly hyper responsive support mechanism. I dont know how things are set up, but if my account could be moved to another server that is working reliably, or something along those lines, Id really appreciate doing that immediately. This seems like a great place and service, and I dont want to have to find something else. I'd like to stay but I can't keep this up. If it was all on my time, I literally would enjoy sitting and helping figure out these apparent bugs, but I'm not on my time. That said, if we can figure out that Im doing something wrong, I'm open to that possibility completely. It just doesn't appear to be on my end so far, to my rookie eyes. Thank you for your consideration. I really need to move forward.

Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.

Aaaaaand, two seconds later, I think I may have figured it out. I'll test my fix and report back. I'll say it does indeed appear to be on my end, though I 'd think there would be measures in place for such a scenario, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll be back asap with more solid info. Thanks.

Okay, so I had the same reusable block open for editing at the same time on two computers, unknowingly. I thought the state of the block in the inactive browser/computer was getting synced to the active session of the same block that I was working on. I closed the inactive session. In fact I shut that computer down. I closed any other even slightly relevant tabs. I have one instance now open, and it still keeps ignoring my edits, like in the video above. I'm at loss here, and need some help. Ill be going on 3 completely wasted days soon.

The behavior displayed in the video of my post above #1805312 continues. I saw some other quite unexpected behavior as well, but obviously want to focus on this specific issue first. What is going on?

Oh, I deactivated all plugins but the two you mentioned. Here is the result. (Spoiler: it's the same.) https://streamable.com/ccwmj4

That's definitely strange.

And to be honest, this is outside of the theme's scope of support as Block Editor is a WordPress core feature.

But to help you out, I'd suggest checking the edit page on Google Chrome's devtools (right-click + inspect) and check the console for any errors. It'll give you an idea of potential issues.

I'd check my webhost's cpanel as well if it has any server-sided caching or permission issue that may be interfering with the sites functions.

It helps to have another staging/sandbox site btw. A fresh install, up-to-date one to play around with to have comparison. :)

So there's no support for Generate Blocks? Or I was using something else? Well, I can still get my money back, and from Kinsta too so whatever. Can't believe there's no support for the service. And that *is* the staging site btw, and "playing around" is exactly what I'm doing. There's nothing live, or if there is it's not pointed to our domain. I have to learn (all of this from nothing by the way,) in a short period of time. And I'll do it too, but likely with tools from a service that offers actual support when documentation is not applicable. I'm sure whatever you do is adequate for the typical user in typical scenarios, and in fact without this bugginess, I wasnt needing any live help figuring it out. I guess maybe I need to try reaching out to Kinsta. This is all a brand new account and fresh setup/installation, about 3 days old. I went with them since they are highly recommended by GP. Anyway, I did find help in a couple of your posts on old threads, before I ran up against this issues, so I guess I can thank you for those. Thanks! And sorry for barking up the wrong tree.

Hi there,

there is a dedicated Support channel for GenerateBlocks.
For the Free plugin it is here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/generateblocks/
Pro users have a channel here: https://generateblocks.com/support/
But we also have a Community Forum you can join: https://community.generateblocks.com
And a FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/849644868942397

Looking at the issue regarding the buttons, you're using the core Button block... not the GB Buttons Block. However the problem you're seeing would be the same for either.

When you add a Button block ( GB or Core ) it actually adds 2 blocks.
First is the Button Container, and nested inside that is the Button Block itself. If you only delete the Button Block and not the container then you will see buttons re-appear.

Best advice is to get used to using the Block Navigation to make sure you select the correct Block, and theres also a toolbar shortcut to select the parent of a block:
