Problem: I want to add a “download” icon or “pdf” icon next to various download links on a page.

I have read here https://docs.generatepress.com/article/font-awesome/ that
“Starting in GeneratePress 2.0, instead of loading the entire FontAwesome library like before, only the essentials will load by default.”

    1. Can you let me know if ANY icons are available in GP out of the box?
    2. If I just want to use 2 particular icons, is there a most efficient way to do this in GP?
    3. Is Fontello as good as any other method?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

the Font Awesome library adds a lot of weight to your site, especially when you only need 2 of them.

    WordPress comes with Dashicons installed:

    https://developer.wordpress.org/resource/dashicons/#upload

Fairly simple to add them to your site.

Fontello or IcoMoon are good options but need a little more integration.
