Adding a shortcode at homepage above latest posts

Hi there,
I'm using the Classic site for a new site with Latest Posts as homepage.
I need to add a slider on top of them, below the menu.
How to add this shortcode?
Possible with Elements or else?

Where should I add it? Inside the content box?
Yes it would be in the content box.

It mentions "If you do wish to add some content, the content box accepts any HTML (headings, paragraphs etc.), shortcodes (slider, contact forms etc.)"
