Still trying to get a new Hero or Page style to work with some pages
I have tried to add a new hero and set it to include/exclude certain pages, but there is no effect on pages.I have tried to add div class and custom css, but there is no effect on pages.
Obviously, I missing something
I want 4 pages on the site to stay the same (black w/white text) Home, Company, Services and Contact
I want all the rest of the pages (about 15) to be reversed, so they are white (5% gray) (f2f2f2) with black text because these pages are lengthy to read. Also may want to increase the type size on these pages but ai think I can do that in Elementor.I have asked this before, but still do not understand, because all I managed to do was really mess up the site!
I may need someone to walk me through this in layman’s terms!
Thank you,
tz

StaffCustomer SupportHi Tim,
Sorry what exactly is the problem currently?
Looks like this is your page hero content on home page:
<!--<h1>Producers of great energy and enthusiasm</h1> <!--<span class="hero divider"></span> <!--<p>We take pride in performing beyond the conventional in pursuit of your objectives. We're your Social Media Marketing Agency that keeps up with current trends.</p> <!--<a href="https://www.trendstrategics.com/services/" class="btn">View Services</a>-->
However they are all commented out so nothing is showing.
You also can’t edit page hero with Elementor as far as I understand but shouldn’t need it either.
Let me know 🙂

Leo,
Yes, all that is commented out. And that is fine. I have what I want on that page. What I am trying to do is change colors on other pages as mentioned above. Please read above. The page http://www.trendstrategics.com/photo for instance. I want it (and about 15 other pages) to be reversed out for a whitish background and black text. So I was trying to add a new hero header or page style. I have tried several times, but really mess up my site and then spend the next bit of time tying to at least get it back to where it was. I know for you this is a 3 minute fix, but for me, I have been lost for two weeks with it. Guess I still don’t understand how to make an extra hero. I have watched videos about this several times and tried to do what they teach, but not getting the results so apparently, I am doing/not doing something very basic. Can you help me?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
so all of the colors in your content are being controlled by Elementor.
You can set the page background color for each page:
Edit the page in Elementor
Click the Settings ( Cog ) Menu
On the Style Tab you can set the Background Color and Color for text.Just to note – if you edit a Section / Column or Widget the colors you set there will override these colors.

StaffCustomer SupportOK, so a few things to do:
1. In Elements > Disable the Global Page Hero by Quick Edit > Set to Draft and Save.
2. Edit Photo Page ( normal WP Editor not Elementor ). Go to the Layouts Meta Box at the foot of screen, select Page Builder Container and Set to full width.
3. Edit the Page in Elementor.
4. Remove the negative margins you have added to the text widgets – so they are back to zero. As the Header Element is no longer there. Now you can Edit Each Section and set the Container Width, and set the background color to white. Then its a case of editing your text widgets and setting their colors to black.
To save you time creating pages like this, install the Duplicate Post plugin:
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-post/
Then you can create a New Draft of the page, and start creating a new one. Note: Don’t use the Clone option it provides.

David,
Thank you for your help!
Still have black on header and footer. How to change these to white?January 28, 2019 at 8:11 am #794576David
StaffCustomer SupportI think the first thing to fix is the different Header Elements.
A lot of the pages you are building don’t look like they require them (?) which in turn means you are having to use negative margins to correct the space it adds – is that correct? If so then it may be worth scrapping the header elements and starting over – or edit the existing ones you need.Simple rules – avoid using the Entire Site rule unless the 99% of pages use the same one. Instead assign just the pages you need in the display rules this stops you from having to the exclude pages elsewhere and causing conflicts.
Once thats done we can create a new header element for the white pages. Let me know.

David,
yes, I think you are correct in the different header elements, but I am truly lost. I started with ZEAL instead of scratch, which probably would have been a lot easier in retrospect. So I have been trying to re-engineer the site to make it conform to what I want.Basically, I have 4 pages that are black (home, company, services and contact) All the other pages I am building is a reverse of those. White or perhaps off white f2f2f2 with black text.
One of the things that confuses me is trying to add different hero headers to different pages like what I viewed on videos. I can’t get those to work with some pages and not with others.
And yes, I hate those huge negative margins.
So how do I edit the existing header elements?
(this is what I have so far)
http://trendstrategics.com/photo-2/so I need to fix the header and footer to be white (except for the 4 pages mentioned)
thank you!

David,
I thought GP enables me to have different hero settings on different pages. Isn’t that the way to do this?January 28, 2019 at 8:48 am #794630David
StaffCustomer SupportSo what are you’re plans for the Headers as i am not seeing them used? Might be better for your requirements not to use the Header Element, and you just build what you need in Elementor?
Let me know if thats good for you and if we scrap the headers its not an issue then i can have a look at reversing this, so all pages default to white and only those 4 pages are displayed in black.

David,
I think I disabled the header
This is what I have for the pages
http://trendstrategics.com/This is what I now have the the test page
http://trendstrategics.com/photo-2/Quite a mess now!

StaffCustomer SupportJust working on the site, if you leave it with me ill rework the dark and white pages. Don’t be alarmed, its gonna take a little bit of work. but ill leave it so you can just create white pages automatically and the 4 main pages will be black.

Thank you David – I’m all in with that!
