Hi, I am in the midst of migrating my site, currently running on two different themes, into one WordPress install based on Generatepress.
My current blog ist based on this theme: https://independentpublisher.me/
You can see my config at http://freshvanroot.com/blog
    Single post link: https://freshvanroot.com/blog/2018/how-create-successful-landing-page/

My question: How can I get my new Generatepress based blog as “single post view” to look like the independentpublisher theme.
I managed to fix the basics (content width, hiding sidebar, etc.), but what i dont know is how to get a cover picture and headline displayed on it.

In the GP site library i see the “volume” template, i like the style of the single post view of it. comes pretty near to what what i need.

My company page is already nearly finished, so i dont want to install site templates that change the config of my complete site.

    Thanks for tips!

    Hi there,

you can create the Page Hero using the Header Element:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/

    Leo provides some examples here:

Thanks, but is that a static hero or a dynamic hero that is based on the featured image set in the blogpost?
    thanks

It can be either – you can select Featured Image or Custom Image 🙂

Hi again, tried this and it seems to work, but the most important setting, making the featured image “full width” is not working.
I read in docu that I need to select merge under display and click full screen under page hero.
I have done both but the image is contained in content area.
    See here: http://wptest.freshvanroot.com/2018/10/16/asdkf-laksjf-als-asfdsdkfj/

    Thanks again for your help.
