I was searching for a starter theme to build on to sell themes – is that what GeneratePress is for?
I searched it and found this quote: GeneratePress is my go to theme for all of my own and client projects. It has proven to be a fast, lightweight and reliable foundation for the websites I build. With GP Premium, my clients were always happy how easy it is to change important parts without relying on others.
If it is possible, can all of the GeneratePress references be changed? Meaning in the theme files:
/* Theme Name: GeneratePress Theme URI: https://generatepress.com Author: Tom Usborne Author URI: https://tomusborne.com Description: GeneratePress is a lightweight WordPress theme built with a focus on speed and usability. GeneratePress is open source software, so nothing is stopping you from doing so.
That being said, it’s not how we intended GeneratePress to be used. If you want to build and sell themes, I highly suggest using Underscores as your base theme (as we did for GeneratePress): https://underscores.me/
That way you’re in control of the way the theme is expanded on and what options you decide to add.
Thanks!
