Hi Mike,
I’m afraid this is up to the plugin to tell WordPress that it’s not the blog index page. The menu is using the core WordPress function, which is thinking the calendar page is the blog page, which is causing confusion.
Stephane may have found a solution – hopefully he can chime in 🙂
