I posted a question about it on Stack Overflow and was told the same thing. It’s a rendering bug in Edge itself and not worth trying to fix on the website side of things.
Browser bugs are hard to understand sometimes – luckily it’s minor and Edge isn’t a very popular browser compared to Chrome, Firefox, Safari and even IE.
Hopefully they have active developers working on it as it’s the future of IE supposedly.
