You shouldn’t have to – WordPress does it all for you. You can contribute to the translations directly on WordPress.org, and they’ll be approved and will be live on your site.
If you’re talking about GP Premium translations, then that’s definitely different. You would have to send those translations to me and I’d have to include them in the plugin.
