Perhaps I don’t really get what you mean by no HTML will make it through into the excerpt as the header and content are both present. There is just no line break between them.

I’ve tried adding the more option and I suspect you mean to apply it immediately following the header however that cuts it off all the content so that the content text is no longer visible.

Unless I’m doing something differently than what you’re suggesting, surely there must be another work around when using standard posts and excerpts?

I really want to use excerpts with masonry and have some content showing. If the heading can’t be separated from the content it looks really silly.

Fairly sure I’ve seen this done on other sites?
