Hi there,
Sizes when uploading images is really up to you – if you don’t enable “Hard Crop”, there should be no cutting of the image.
To create a slider, you’ll want to install one of the many slider plugins available (Meta Slider for example).
Then you can place the shortcode from the slider plugin into GP Hooks or the Page Header add-on to show it on your page.
