Hi Tom,
Perhaps you could help me. I try to include “The Events Calendar” plugin into the “GeneratePress” framework.
When I display the specific page, I have some trouble with the design : http://vtt-itzuliak.proteo-interactive.com/calendrier/
Could you have a look at it and could you tell me how to fix it ?
Thanks,
Stephane.December 18, 2014 at 9:44 am #55961TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi Stephane,
What’s it supposed to look like?
December 18, 2014 at 11:03 am #55972StephaneThe link : http://vtt-itzuliak.proteo-interactive.com/calendrier/
Is it normal that the calendar display haven’t a GeneratePress look page (the background is not white) ? It seems that the generate look page isn’t apply to the calendar page ? And I notice that two menu links are active ?
I wish I was clear.
Thanks.
December 19, 2014 at 12:10 am #56101TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt seems the plugin is stripping the inside of the content area, which carries the styling for the white background.
You’ll have to ask the developer if it’s possible to include the category on a page using a shortcode, or if you can tweak the template at all.
As for menus – WordPress thinks that the current page is an ancestor of those two menu item. This looks like it may be happening because the calendar plugin is telling WordPress it’s the posts page (blog).

December 19, 2014 at 2:58 am #56139StephaneOne question : did you use this plugin or have you got another plugin name to give me?
December 19, 2014 at 9:20 am #56224StephaneOk. First return. For the design, it seems that I have not set the display parameters correctly (where you can switch between plugin or template design).
You can see the result here : http://vtt-itzuliak.proteo-interactive.com/calendrier/
I continue to investigate.
December 19, 2014 at 10:08 am #56246TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperNice – that looks like it worked! π
Is there anything else wrong with it inside GP?
December 19, 2014 at 10:18 am #56251StephaneI will tell you. I look at the double active menu issue.
April 18, 2015 at 8:56 am #99830mikeHi Stephane, Tom,
Were you ever able to resolve the issue where selecting the Events nav item also highlights/selects the Blog nav menu item at the same time?
Thanks
April 18, 2015 at 9:03 am #99835TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi Mike,
I’m afraid this is up to the plugin to tell WordPress that it’s not the blog index page. The menu is using the core WordPress function, which is thinking the calendar page is the blog page, which is causing confusion.
Stephane may have found a solution – hopefully he can chime in π
April 18, 2015 at 1:31 pm #99920StephaneHello,
Any solution at this moment. I’m sorry. It seems to be a recurrent issue with this plugin.
Best,
Stephane.April 18, 2015 at 11:38 pm #99985TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperPossible fix?: https://gist.github.com/generatepress/7752e14657e806b63473
Find out the custom post type name for the events, and replace “gallery” with it.
Untested, so make sure you have FTP access to your functions.php file.
Let me know how it goes π
